Diversified telecommunications firm PT&T today announced that it has achieved its first ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for its Information Security Management System (ISMS).

Certification for ISMS demonstrates that the company has invested in technology, processes, manpower and an independent assessment to help protect and ensure the privacy, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all its information assets or corporate data.

“We are extremely proud of this accomplishment,” said President and CEO James Velasquez. “It validates that our processes, protocols, and controls are aligned with international information security standards. This certification will also provide further assurance to our clients and customers when evaluating our information security posture.”

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an information security management system within the organization’s context. It also includes provisions for assessing and treating information security risks tailored to the organization’s needs.

PT&T’s certification and extensive audit process was performed by BQSR, a globally recognized ISO Certification body with a specialized wide pool of auditors and technical experts conducting audits across various industries including telecommunications.

Aside from ISMS certification, PT&T also completed its first surveillance audit for its ISO 9001:2015 for QMS which was successfully established during the course of the pandemic.

“We already earned our ISO 9001:2015 certification for our Quality Management System (QMS) in 2021. Obtaining ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for ISMS is another significant milestone within our strategic pillars of growth,” Chief People & Culture Officer Concepcion D.S. Roxas said. “We are committed to achieving the necessary certifications, attestations, and audit reports that demonstrate compliance with our industry’s standards and regulations.”
