Chairman

Mr. James G. Velasquez is a seasoned executive with over 35 years of experience in information technology, telecommunications, and cybersecurity. He currently serves as Chairman of PT&T Corp. and Co-Founder, President and CEO of SecureLink Networks Inc., a joint venture between PT&T and Netlinkz of Australia. Additionally, he sits on the boards of SecureLink Networks, MRC Allied, DRI Philippines, and The Philippine Red Cross – Rizal Chapter. He is also an active member of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) and the British Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (BCCP). 

Since taking the helm at PT&T in 2018, Mr. Velasquez has led the company’s successful turnaround, significantly enhancing its operational efficiency, subscriber base, and financial performance. Under his leadership, PT&T has achieved a compound annual revenue growth rate (CAGR) of over 30%, driven by a sharp focus on customer-centricity, expansion of IT services, and strategic investments. The company has also maintained exceptional customer experience metrics, with a Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) rating above 90% and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) exceeding 80%. Beyond financial growth, PT&T has secured ISO certifications for Quality Management (QMS) and Information Security (ISMS), reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence and cybersecurity. His leadership has also guided PT&T through a successful rehabilitation program, solidifying its position in the highly competitive telecommunications industry. 

Under Mr. Velasquez’s leadership, PT&T has earned numerous industry accolades, including:

Before joining PT&T, Mr. Velasquez spent 30 years at IBM, where he held key leadership roles across the Philippines, ASEAN, and Asia Pacific. As President and Country General Manager of IBM Philippines, he led the company’s domestic and global operations, driving strong market growth. He also served as Chairman of IBM Philippines and its subsidiaries, overseeing strategic initiatives in IT business, infrastructure management, and regional sales. 

Mr. Velasquez has served as a Trustee of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), Board Member of the Management Association of the Philippines, Director of Rappler Inc., Director of Asia Pacific College, and Trustee of the UST Engineering Alumni Association. He has received numerous personal recognitions, including: 

    1. UST Engineering Centennial Award for Industry Leadership 
    2. UST The Outstanding Alumni Award for Business Management 
    3. Letran Alumni Award for Industry 
    4. Letran Grandes Figuras Recognition

Salvador B. Zamora II

Director

Mr. Salvador “Buddy” Zamora II is a prominent figure in Philippine business, known for his extensive contributions to the mining, energy, agriculture, and real estate sectors. He currently serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Tranzen Group Inc., a Filipino-owned holding company engaged in renewable energy, agro-industries, and resort development.

Mr. Zamora made his mark in the 1970s by establishing Nickel Asia Corporation, now the country’s largest producer of lateritic nickel ore and one of the largest globally. He served as President and CEO of Nickel Asia Corporation from 2006 to 2009 and previously led its key operations at Hinatuan Mining Corporation, Taganito Mining Corporation, and Cagdianao Mining Corporation.

In 2008, he established Tranzen Group Inc. with the vision of building a diversified, future-ready conglomerate. Under his leadership, the Group partnered with Carbon Assets Fund of the Cayman Islands to build the Philippines’ first methane production plant in Rizal. Tranzen Group continues to expand with projects in hydropower generation and mining ventures, including interests in Dinagat Island.

Mr. Zamora also chairs several major corporations, including: Philippine Phosphate Fertilizer Corporation, Bacavalley Energy, Inc., One Pacstar Realty Corporation, Two Pactstar Realty Corporation, Agusan Power Corporation, Philphos Trading Inc., Lear Aero Ltd., Inc., Libjo Mining Corporation, and Lake Mainit Hydro Holdings Corporation.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Ateneo de Manila University and a Master of Business Administration from New York University in the United States.

Ma. Cristina Z. Borra

Ms. Ma. Cristina Z. Borra has been serving as a Director of PT&T since September 2020. She brings with her over 24 years of academic and research experience across both local and international institutions.

She began her career in 1996 as a part-time Executive Assistant at Hinatuan International Inc. while completing her undergraduate degree. From 1998 to 2000, she worked as a Researcher for the Zamora Research Group, focusing on both local and international political and institutional issues.

Ms. Borra’s teaching career spans over two decades. From 2000 to 2015, she taught Literature and English at the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), handling courses across undergraduate and graduate levels. She later joined Manresa School in 2015 as a full-time Senior High School English teacher, delivering subjects such as Oral Communication, English for Academic and Professional Purposes, and Research in Daily Life. In 2020, she served as an online instructor for UA&P’s Junior Academic Assistance Program under WordPrime Reading Lab, mentoring incoming senior high school students in academic essay writing.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from the Center for Research and Communication – College of Arts and Sciences (now UA&P) and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from New York University under the Draper Interdisciplinary Program. She has also pursued doctoral studies in Comparative Literature at the University of the Philippines – Diliman.

Mr. Santiago is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Telectronic Systems Inc. since 2018. He started his career in the ICT industry in 1996 as product manager moving to new business development, introduction of new technology projects, and various senior management roles in marketing.

He received his bachelor’s degree from University of California Berkeley.

Mr. Santiago is the President of Tesco Services, Inc. since 2000. He was the former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of PGA Group of Companies.

He holds a degree in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Ma. Cristina Z. Borra

Director

Ms. Borra has been a Director of PT&T since September of 2020. Ms. Borra’s work experience spans 24 years. She started her career in 1996 as a part-time Executive Assistant at Hinatuan International Inc. In 1998, she conducted research on both local and international political issues and institutional policies for the Zamora Research Group. She started teaching Literature classes in 2000 for freshmen, sophomore, and graduate students at the University of Asia & the Pacific (UA&P). Deepening her career in teaching, she moved to Manresa School in 2015 as a full-time English Teacher. Most recently, Ms. Borra taught a fully online class for the Junior Academic Assistance Program of UA&P under Wordprime Reading Lab where she guided students in writing academic essays.

Ms. Borra received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Humanities from the Center for Research and Communication – College of Arts and Sciences (CRC-CAS), now known as University of Asia & the Pacific. She took her master’s degree in Liberal Studies under the Draper Program of New York University.

Serafin C. Ledesma, Jr.

Independent Director

Mr. Ledesma has served as an Independent Director of PT&T since July of 2018. He is from Davao City. He was a former Station Manager, News Director, and Program Director of various radio stations and news agencies in Mindanao. He was also a Branch Manager of Telefast Communications from 1976-1978. He served as Area Manager of PT&T from 1978-1982 and later on, the company’s Vice-President for Mindanao from 1982-2001. From 1986-2001, he was a Co-Chairman of the Technical Working Group for the Interconnection of Telecommunications Network in Mindanao. He also served as a Director of Davao City Water District from 2014-2016 and is currently a columnist and opinion writer of Sun Star Davao and Philippine News Agency, respectively. Mr. Ledesma is likewise active with various civic organizations. He is the former President of the following organizations: Davao Integrated Press Club (1974-1977), Media Dabaw (1978-1980), and Rotary Club of Davao (1997-1998).

Mr. Ledesma received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Science from the Mindanao Colleges (now University of Mindanao).

Independent Director

Mr. Santos has been an Independent Director of PT&T since June of 2019. He is the Chairman of several corporations including, BC Net, Asian Carmakers Corporation, GND Holdings, and Beebeelee. He is also the Vice-Chairman of Sta. Rosa Motor Works, Inc., Eurobrands Distributor Inc., Columbian Motors Corporation, Columbian Manufacturing Corporation, and Subic Air, Inc. He is also a Director and President of several other corporations operating different businesses in the Philippines.

Mr. Santos received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University.

Mr. Reyes has been an Independent Director of PT&T since September of 2020. He is currently the Assistant Vice President for Metro Manila Sales of Bluefire LPG Marketing.

Mr. Reyes received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management from De La Salle College of Saint Benilde.

Independent Director

Atty. Serrano is a practicing lawyer specializing in corporate law and the Managing Partner of Serrano Law. He is the Corporate Secretary of SM Investments Corp., SM Prime Holdings, Inc., Premium Leisure Corp., Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corp., and subsidiaries of BDO Unibank, Inc. He is a Certified Associate Treasury Professional and was among the top graduates of the Trust Institute of the Philippines in 2001.

He holds a Juris Doctor degree and received his BS Legal Management degree from Ateneo de Manila University.

Mr. Velasquez has been a Director of PT&T since March 2018 and has served as its President & CEO since June of the same year. He is currently a board member of MRC Allied and DRI Philippines. He is also a member of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) and the Makati Business Club (MBC).

At the helm of PT&T’s revival, the Company vastly improved its operations, subscriber base, and financial viability. For the past 5 years (2017-2022), Revenues grew 248% at 28% CAGR through subscriber growth and introduction of IT Services. Core EBITDA also grew by 74% at 12% CAGR since embarking on the Company’s revival. The Company’s focus on customer centricity is central to the firm’s revival and growth. Following the successful establishment of its Quality Management System (QMS), PT&T recently earned its first ISO 9001:2015 certification. More importantly, as of June 2023, PT&T achieved a Customer Satisfaction or CSAT rating of 91%.

Prior to joining PT&T, he was a Senior Executive for IBM Global Technology Services – Asia Pacific with 30 years’ experience in running several business units in the Philippines, ASEAN, and Asia Pacific, with focus on IT Business and Infrastructure Management, Operations, P&L, and Regional Sales. Previously, he was the President and Country General Manager of IBM Philippines where he was responsible for the overall IBM business operations and led the company to both domestic and global delivery growth. He also served as Chairman of IBM Philippines and associated IBM subsidiaries.

Mr. Velasquez was formerly a Trustee of Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), Board Member of the Management Association of the Philippines, Director of Rappler Inc., Director of Asia Pacific College, and Trustee of UST Engineering Alumni Association.

He was a recipient of the following recognitions: UST Engineering Centennial Award for Industry Leadership, UST’s The Outstanding Alumni Award for Business Management, and Letran Alumni Award for Industry. He also received the CEO Excel Awards in 2011 in addition to garnering various recognitions for IBM Philippines in the areas of Corporate Social Responsibility, Marketing, HR, and ICT.

Patrick Vincent G. Peña

SVP – Corporate Affairs Group Head, Corporate Information Officer, and Compliance Officer

Mr. Peña is a seasoned telecom executive with 26 years of solid experience in Digital Communications, specifically in the areas of Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and Innovation.

He started his telecom career in Smart Communications where he managed the transition of the cellular business from Analog to GSM. He then went on to join startup Meridian Telekoms to pioneer wireless broadband technologies in the Philippines until it was acquired by Smart where it became the foundation for the Smart Broadband business. He moved to Digitel Mobile Philippines and is credited for growing Sun Cellular as the #1 Postpaid brand in the market, as well as for the successful launch of Sun Broadband. As Senior Vice President, he also handled Business Development where he collaborated with Technology partners for new business initiatives.

With the eventual acquisition of Digitel by PLDT, he was seconded to Voyager Innovations, to champion Internet-based communication solutions for the different business units within PLDT.

Mr. Peña joined PT&T as General Manager in 2018, overseeing the continuous growth and development of the Connectivity business until end 2021. In his new role as Head of the Corporate Affairs Group, his focus is now on Investor Relations and Fundraising, Strategic Partnerships, and Corporate Governance.

Prior to his Telecom career, Mr. Peña cut his teeth in key management positions in multinationals Unilever and GlaxoSmithKline, where he put to good use his IE discipline in Marketing and Product Management. He has also done consultancy work in renewable energy, specifically in the Solar space prior to his PT&T stint.

Mr. Peña is a member of the Management Association of the Philippines. He also served as President of the University of the Philippines Industrial Engineering Alumni Association and is a current Board Trustee of the University of the Philippines Engineering R&D Foundation Inc.

Mr. Peña received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from University of the Philippines – Diliman.

Anthony G. Jose

VP - IT Services

Mr. Jose has been PT&T’s VP for IT Services since May 2022. He has almost 30 years of sales experience with expertise in cost containment, market plan execution, and business development.

Mr. Jose previously served as VP in Strategic Synergy Inc. where he developed strategic business plans to promote revenue, profitability growth, market reach expansion, new name customer acquisition and customer satisfaction.

Prior to that, he served the following positions: Director for Product Development of Eastern Telecommunications Philippines Inc., VP and General Manager of Scala Business Solutions Inc., and VP of Systems Standards Inc.

Mr. Jose received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a Degree in Information Technology from De La Salle University.

VP - Chief Technical Officer

Mr. Julian is a seasoned professional with more than 24 years of experience and technical proficiency in the telecommunications industry, having worked in various capacities in different companies in the Philippines and overseas.

Prior to joining PT&T in 2019, Mr. Julian’s work experience includes stints as a Project Management Office Head, Project Director, Senior Telecom Consultant, National Project Head, Customer Project Manager, and Senior Manager for various telecommunications companies in the Philippines and abroad such as Huawei, Fiberhome, Ericsson, Nextel, Bravo Telecoms STC, EDM Wireless for Ethiopian Telecommunications, Sun Cellular, MEC TELEMATIK FZ LLC for Afghan Telecom, and Dimension Data.

Mr. Julian received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Santo Tomas.

Kenneth Joey H. Maceren

Atty. Maceren is a lawyer with over 15 years of corporate and litigation experience.

Immediately after passing the bar examinations, he worked in two Makati-based law firms primarily engaged in litigation and corporate practice. His corporate practice in these law firms includes incorporation, corporate restructuring, compliance, corporate housekeeping, and due diligence in relation to corporate acquisition.

For his litigation practice, he was exposed to different aspects and stages of trial work including the drafting of various briefs and court documents, preparation of witnesses, and court appearances. He also represented clients in administrative proceedings before the Bureau of Immigration, Department of Labor and Employment, and National Labor Relations Commission.

In addition, he practiced election law where he was part of the team that handled disqualification cases and election protests before the Commission on Elections and House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal.

After several years of working in law offices, he became an in-house counsel in three different corporations listed with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE): Megawide Construction Corporation, MRC Allied, Inc. and currently at Philippine Telegraph & Telephone Corporation. As an in-house counsel, he was tasked to perform regulatory and compliance work with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), PSE, and National Telecommunications Commission (NTC). He also represented the corporations he worked for in the different cases filed by or against it, including civil, labor, and criminal cases, and acted on their behalf in several government procurement activities including one Public Private Partnership with the Department of Education.

Atty. Maceren is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and was admitted as a member of the Philippine Bar in 2007. He obtained his degree in Bachelor of Laws from San Beda University College of Law and his degree in Bachelor of Arts Major in Legal Management from the University of Santo Tomas.

SVP – Chief People and Culture Officer

Ms. Roxas joined PT&T in 2018 and has since served as its Chief People & Culture Officer. She is a member of the Philippine Society for Talent Development and People Management of the Philippines.

In PT&T, with inputs from the newly installed management team in 2017, she crafted the Mission, Vision, and Values statement. Ms. Roxas designed and implemented the People & Culture (P&C) Transformation Roadmap and People Agenda that centers on creating a performance-based and values-driven organization.

From an employee base of 95 in 2018, PT&T is now at 260 employees. She implemented world class and customized learning and development programs, which resulted to PT&T being recognized in 2021 by the Philippine Society for Talent Development as the Learning and Development Organization of the Year for Private Sector.

Ms. Roxas led PT&T’s ISO 9001:2015 QMS certification audit in 2022. As an HR Leader, she has chalked up 20+ years of experience gained from various industries and business scenarios such as start-ups, exponential growth, business turn-around, culture building, and transformation.

In the telco industry, she worked with Smart Communications and led the Talent Acquisition team that was responsible for growing employee base from 250 to 5,000 in 4 years. In her stint with Ingram Micro Manila Shared Services Center, she built the HR function from the ground-up, increased employee base from 800+ to 2,000 in 2 years and as a result, Ingram was adjudged by the 2012 ICT Awards as the Fastest-Growing BPO Company of the Year. As HR Practice Lead in BayanTrade, a SAP Consulting partner, she successfully implemented SAP HR for a major utility company and retail stores chain.

Ms. Roxas pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Santo Tomas.
