PT&T contributes to Disaster Resilience in Aurora Province

PT&T participated in the official launch of the Mobile Command and Control Vehicle (MOCCOV) awarded to Aurora Province by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). The event took place at the Aurora Provincial Capitol in the Municipality of Baler.

MOCCOV, an advanced emergency command center, is a crucial asset for Aurora Province, prone to natural disasters. It ensures efficient disaster management and response during adverse conditions.

Through PT&T’s client, Metro Asia Exchange Corp., its Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) service powered by Kacific is integral to MOCCOV. The VSAT serves as a lifeline, supplying internet and communication during severe weather conditions when other channels are compromised.

During the event, PT&T presented VSAT and engaged in a Q&A session with participants from the National Disaster Response Team, Philippine National Police (PNP), DOST, and the personnel of Aurora Provincial Office. PT&T’s commitment to nation-building aligns with our mission to empower communities.

Guests included DOST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr., DOST Region 3 Director Dr. Julius Sicat, Province of Aurora Governor Christian Noveras, Metro Asia Exchange Operations Manager Pershing Abella, and PT&T Retail Sales Head Mark Generalao.

PT&T President and CEO James Velasquez said “PT&T is using its expertise to serve and support communities nationwide. Together, let’s build a more resilient and prepared nation.”
